CHLY Program Proposal

August 21’07

Show title; Just For The Health Of It

Show description; Interactive talk show, centering around personal health care issues concerns and quandaries.

Toma has access to questions and concerns from persons with nutrition/diabetes issues via his established website www.diabetic-diet-secrets.com. Toma is a nutrition coach.

Pam has access to questions, concerns and issues through delivering a Chronic Disease Self-Management Program www.coag.uvic.ca/cdsmp . Pam coaches self-management skills as part of the UVIC program .

We will both gather local appropriate information and guidance in seeking support and knowledge. Are willing to debate issues as wells as play devils advocate to benefit calls and email questions or issues.

Just For The Health Of It will offer a segment for Info/Support groups from our many non-profit societies and foundations; MS, Diabetes, Heart and Stroke, Kidney Foundation, Cancer Societies etc.

We will bring segment suggestions to Food Share, Community Gardens, Mal. U. Campus Gardens Project ect.

Show format: 20 minute segments with musical breaks with CHLY promos and ID to play in between segments and topics.

Intro./topic/invite callers and emails

2 Hour segment late afternoon, with some scheduling limitations; preference to Monday or Friday 4-6 pm –ish, Tuesdays may also be an option.

Not available to start until the week of Sept. 17th ’07 which gives us time to set up promos and email at CHLY to receive relevant questions and concerning issues from CHLY listeners as well as other sources listed above

"Living  For The health Of It" is a new show on CHLY 101.7 FM Nanaimo. This show is available for syndication to other college and community stations.

Yesterday all servers in the U.S. went out on strike in a bid to get more RAM and better CPUs. A spokes person said that the need for better RAM was due to some fool increasing the front-side bus speed. In future, busses will be told to slow down in residential motherboards.
