Come join us and help this new on-line community
for diabetics grow!
For this website and on line community to grow and prosper we need volunteers with vision, imagination and a strong desire to be part of a caring, helping and supportive online experience for our guest.
Hi,
I am Toma. I am the one who started this site and online community. I am the first to recognize that I need all the help I can get in accomplishing this very important mission.
There will be many who will visit this web site, who if treated with respect and dignity, hopefully will become members.
The focus of this site is to help the nutritionally challenged. the committees listed below are where the help is needed, as I see it. You may have ideas for other committees. If so please submit your proposal and whether or not you are willing to head up the committee, to Toma toma@nutricoach.net.
To volunteer, e-mail laurie@nutricoach.net Laurie will be the committee coordinator. All committee chairpersons will report to her. she will then bring anything to my attention that I need to be involved in. At present there is only her and I for this function, and we both only speak English. If there is a multi lingual individual with good people skills who is interested in this position please step forward.
Admins are needed for each of the following:
Guest book, Responsibility is to review guest book postings for appropriateness and remove any offensive post on a daily basis.
required skills are: good judgment basic computer skills and the time to check the guest book everyday. or more if desired. The Viper Guest book that we use is pretty simple and straight forward and can be taught in a short session.
Current admin: Laurie, Toma
Community, responsibility is to over see the bulletin board, maintain the bulletin board which will require some posts, keep the post topical, coordinate any volunteers that are recruited to assist in running the board and in general act as the "Mayor" of the community. This spot on the team is held by Doug From Denver Colorado who has a lot of experience in running and maintaining bulletin boards he will be seeking individuals to assist him when the board gets busy. he can be reached at doug@nutricoach.net
NutriCoach News Service, This spot requires at least two people. Someone familiar with mambo to act as admin for the software and run the news feed and someone to be editor, We have 3 managing editors. They are:
Dennice
. She is from Nanaimo, British Columbia Canada. She has background in journalism and was an A+ English major student in College. her e-mail is: dennice@nutricoach.net
Ross Jenkins,
Ross is a published journalist originally from Seattle. He has a strong personal interest in how nutrition effects diabetes and other health issues. He can be reached at ross@nutricoach.net
Jaen
Jaen is from Vancouver, British Columbia. She also has a very strong background in writing, editing and proofreading.
I feel very fortunate to have these three contributing to our News Service. We also need lots of people to post news items as they see them. This can be done by any member who registers in our News Service. Other positions I see in the NutriCoach News Service are researchers to go to various parts of the web and find the best most recent information to fill our library data base with relevant information for all our members.
NutriCoach Blog The Blog is edited by Dennice but still needs an admin familiar with DruPal, the admin will be responsible for the technical aspects of DruPal and it maintenance. The admin will need to work closely with Dennice under her supervision. also needed are writers who will be responsible for researching and writing articles that are relevant to the nutritionally challenged , either because of medical information or nutritional information directly related to controlling a specific medical condition.
OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE This committee needs to be composed of Doctors, nurses and dieticians willing to volunteer their expertise in making sure everything on this site is medically sound and to write expert articles to aid our members. The first and current head of this committee is Jamie from Aurora Colorado. She is a nurse with several years of experience. As a former body builder with numerous titles, she has a special interest in nutrition and its effect on the body.
NUTRICOACH TEST KITCHEN, The main structure and technical issues for the test kitchen will be handled by Doug.
What is still needed is a panel of cooks willing to try each recipe submitted and evaluate it in the context of being able to help our members in some or several areas of dealing with a nutritional challenge. The recipes that pass the scrutiny of the panel will be posted on this site with instructions for its use, what it should be served with for a balanced meal and what the nutritional numbers are for the recipe. Toma will work closely with this panel to share tips and tricks for changing recipes to make them better for meeting specific needs for our members.
NUTRICOACH LIVE CHAT, The chat rooms are an area that is often over looked. There is a very important area here that requires very little specialized expertise. The chat room needs greeters. If new people come into a chat and no one is there they might never come back. They are probably nutritionally challenge or they would probably not be on this site. I hate to see anyone go away without help.
SITE PROMOTION A few of the tasks on this team require specialized expertise but most just require a lot of grunt work.
There may be other areas that we need Team members to cover but this I think will form a good core group. I may be the founder but I have to answer to everyone. It is ultimately my responsibility to deliver the services that this site is set up for. If there is something that needs attention and you don't know which admin to turn to send it to me at toma@nutricoach.net
If you find this site useful, your support would be appreciated!
